:ehh:
The 4 million people were being freed either way in my honest opinion, but I understand why you are framing it that way.
:salute:You wanted brehs freed regardless of the cost.

To be honest, you should be happy the Civil War happened for whatever reason. If it hadn't the Corwin Amendment would have passed constitutionally ensuring slavery for the entirety of the US's existance.

That's the most logical conclusion if you are black or a moral human being.

The South instituted apartheid for the next century after The Civil War. What makes you think left to their own devices, enslaved people would have been freed?

You need to get your head out of your libertarian ass and realize when it comes to self preservation, political ideology goes out of the window.

The South, the US, stop thinking the South is the only place that was racist. Where were the race riots in the 60s and 70s, California, Detroit, New York had shoot outs.
The US as a whole, white society as a whole in the US is racist, and if you want to be real about it, after slavery, 5- 6 years later a great deal of the blacks freed were put back in a lot of the slave pens they had been freed from with the full knowledge and backing of the US government, not just the states.

:dwillhuh:Who said or suggested anything close to that?
Believe it or not, you can oppose slavery and the course Lincoln took to end it.

:mjlol:Lincoln hated nikkas anyways and never opposed the laws banning them from his home state.
Ya'll gotta stop holding this white supremacist up like he really gave a fukk about ya'll.

I don't care about Lincoln. I'm trying to understand why you seem to believe that American slavers would ever give up the "peculiar institution" on their own when they started a war to prevent it.

It's the South that declared war not the other way around.

its like nikkas like you have no sense of self preservation. You are out here suggesting the North should have been gracious and accomodating to the South in the face of secession and preservation of one of the most brutal institutions in human history.

By the way, if I had to weigh the morality of upholding an agreement vs the freedom of 4 million people, then there is no question at all. Where the fukk is your morality?

On behalf of your ancestors, fukk you.

Libertarians don't operate with a moral compass.

Where did breh get the idea slaves were about to get set free? The secession had to do with repubs not wanting NEW territories to allow slavery. The South wanted increased slavery in America

Nah secession had to do with the tariffs being increased on imports, which hurt the south.
20 years prior when the Tariff of Abominations had been repealed the southern states said they would secede if they brought the tariffs back, and they did so when lincoln took office and enacted the tariffs. Remember the nullification crisis had the south damn near agreeing to secede in the 1830s.

Libertarians don't operate with a moral compass.
Sure we do.
Sometimes you might want to get out of your feelings and listen or pay more attention to the logic of what is being presented, rather than how you feel.

That said I disagree with Dead's position while also being a libertarian, but I understand the argument he is making, even though I disagree with his stance.

Ain't no ideology bih
That's an insult to shoe shine boys. A lot of people are mediocre some of those mediocre people are black. The way that they stand out is to take unconventional positions and opinions. @DEAD7 is one of those people. He just isn't very intelligent and is unremarkable, this is his way of standing out.You see now that posters are hitting him with facts he's unable to defend his initial position. That's because his initial position was stupid and not very well thought out.

Honestly, the claim that U.S. slavery would have ended of its own accord is extremely difficult to support:wow:, but its also impossible to disprove:mjpls:.

We will just have to agree to disagree.:manny:

:salute:I appreciate all the mudslingers.

:ehh:@Robbie3000 your argument about urgency has me rethinking my position...

:hubie:Cant promise a change tho
