Everybody want to be a leader, but everyone isn't built to lead. People make fun of people who lived a fast life, fukked everything moving, got high, but because they did those things, and got tired of it, they can now lead without worry of getting caught in traps. Look at Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X. Martin Luther King has his legacy tarnished because he messed with other women besides his wife. Malcolm X has none of that to his legacy. And we can see why. Martin was a nice square school kid who never had lived a fast life, and when he got famous, women threw themselves at him. That is hard to shake off if you never had it before. Malcolm lived a fast hard life, and got tired of living like that, so when he became famous, he could care less, he wanted to achieve his goal.

It's the same for these politicians, and preachers. They also get caught up because they want to be leaders, and can't handle what comes along with being a leader.

Umar figured out a socio-political calculus that rich white conservatives have been on for a minute. The power of persuasion is in racial tribalism, and the paranoia and angst that comes with it. Once you get a base to believe that the boogiemen come in a different shades and sexual orientations, and they all after you, and you start force feeding them accompanying conspiracy theories that end with you being their savior, well, their pockets are yours!

That power of persuasion is so strong that it insulates Umar from any of his own misdeeds, and renders him bulletproof. Everything is circular. Ask him any pertinent questions about a prospective school? You're an agent. Ask him where all the damn donation money went? You're a self hating c00n. Strippers coming out with lurid tales involving Umar? Obviously the work of bedwenches acting on behalf of white supremacists. You cant make this shyt up. Its like a bad In Living Color skit.

Of course he aint gunna build no fukkin school. That would require work. Lots of hard work. Why do that when he can get rich putting on his dirty ass dashikis, giving half-assed 1 hour sermons where he rambles on with his two bit theories about 'scandal' and other irrelevant shyt, and then fukks strippers at night with his ill gotten gains.

The only problem I have with Umar is this: I dont mind that he's punking militants out they money. They have no street smarts whatsoever, and cant see a lame con man coming if their lives depended on it so they deserve to get got. They just want Umar to gratify their ego and their sense of victimhood. But its the poor black couple who are underemployed and undereducated, but very well intentioned and truly believe that Umar has their children's best interest at heart. Thats what angers me. Umar is leveraging very real issues concerning blacks, and parents wanting the best for their children, for his own financial enrichment. He a bytch for that...the fat faced fukk.

Honestly, I don't blame his followers at all (even the "militants"). It's easy to misguide uneducated people if you have a gift for public speaking and a agenda that can convince those broken down members of society that you can help them out of their current situation. It is sad though that even with all of the evidence against Jermaine Shoemake those same people will continue to blindly follow him because he's the only hope they can see. The guy is a con man no different than the guy that use to sells "prayer cloths" on late night BET infomercials or Creflo Dollar. The only difference is he's hustling black pride instead of religion.

Young black boys need mentors who will stress the importance of self control. If you cannot control your dikk, you cannot lead anything. If young black boys are to grow into men who will lead women and children, then they need to have the proper foundation. And that foundation is not, "do as I say, but not as I do" while producing more out of wedlock children.

Young black boys do not need role models who treat women like disposable rags, even when the women behave as such. A man of character would not have used her body even though she had no problem giving it out. From the content of those texts, obviously she wanted more than that. Many women do, but it is sad that they feel they have to settle for being a cumrag with the hopes that maybe he will commit.

I am not sure why people are pretending as if this whore lifestyle has not had dramatic negative effects on the black community. But you can support whatever you want.

This sitution is disgraceful enough. While I could pull up lectures that contradict his recent actions, I am not going to because the fire is already burning and I am not going to add flames. I don't like the witchhunt aspect of it.

Do you see a difference between "militants" and black people who are "pro-black" or African-centered?

I just wonder because, I always see groups of seemingly intelligent black folk who love to slam other groups of black people who are seen as pro-black.
I'm not talking about the goofy hotep, swindlers, or hate spewing militants, but black people who actually have a love for their culture, community, women and men.
Being pro-black/african centered does not mean that one spreads hate or hates other races, cultures or communities.

I agree that their are some individuals on here labeled as militants that are hypocritical and bat shyt crazy
but it really seems like any black person on thecoli with a modicum of pride or awareness of the ills and injustices that happen in our community, are labeled as militants.

Aight after looking over the situation it seems like she led Umar on long enough to try to put him on blast later. Looking at the texts its like "ok i got enough dirt let me drop the lovey dovey act now". Umar called her wifey so theres no telling if he wanted to start a serious relationship.
