Since I work for an airline and I can go on flights for free and I regularly do, I should at least write about my experiences.

So yesterday (Thursday) I went to LA because I hadn't been to a beach in almost 4 years and had the summer urge to go for a swim. So I slept for 3 hours (Wednesday) and woke up around 4am on Thursday, packed my bags, drove to the airport, parked the whip and hopped onto a plane that headed for LA (6am). The flight was blah, I was already tired and ontop of that there were several kids throwing their fits. I didn't sleep but arrived at 9am.

Hopped off the plane, walked outside of the airport and asked an older Mexican woman for directions. She told me to follow her and took me on the employee bus with her. We talked the whole ride, even though she barely spoke English....turns out she was a flight attendant for the company that I work for lol. Also, I don't know what it is about older Latina women and black men. Anyhow, we pull up to a car rental place and I go look for more directions.

After some asking I find a nice hotel that has a shuttle that takes you on a tour of manhattan beach (shoutout to who ever suggested that to me). So I went, went swimming in the ocean was sick.

Kicked it, ate burgers for every meal. Lunch and dinner were In and Out and breakfast was a random place called The Kettle. Ended up hanging out with a cool dude I made friends with at a hostel in vancouver.

Anyway, I went end to go back home the some day but I ended up not being able to, no open seats for planes for the same day, so I had to spend a night in a hotel. The next day, I woke up, showered, kicked it and looked for flights back to portland.

But I couldn't find anything, so I'm trying to work out the mathematics, seeing if I can fly to one city and then back home from that one. Couldn't find anything that lined up, most had no chances of me being on that plane. Around 11am ish, it popped into my head to fly to Seattle because someone had once told me that if you can't make it to your home then fly to Seattle first, because it's a hub.

So I did, the flight left at 1:45pm and it was already 1130. So I walked to LAX, a 30 minute walk if done with a casual stroll manner.

I'll finish the rest later cause this shyt is long.

So you planned to go to LA and meet up with this friend from Vancouver? That part seemed to have come out of nowhere.

My brother works for Air Canada.
Went to Tokyo for like $70 a few years ago.

yeah its a great life, also why i feel no pity when airlines go under, employees only paying taxes living it up while we paying a arm and a leg

OP never updated this. @Monsieur. Fox
Okay,! To answer a few questions.

I didn't smash the old Mexican lady, I would of if I could of, there was a bad Mexican one at the beach that was eyeing me hard, I didn't pursue though (my biggest problem :snoop:) she looked like one of them Mexicans off telemundo with whitish skin and red hair. No worries though, I'm going to try to go to Mexico soon.

The friend that I met in Vancouver, meeting up with him wasn't so spontaneous I spoke to him about it a day or so before I left, I just didn't mention it in the story because I didn't want the story to be overly long and not well received.

I didn't have to pay any luggage fees, but then again I don't work for delta.

Reincar, you shouldn't be such a hater man because in all honesty employees of airlines are really underpaid for the amount of responsibility that is placed in our hands. We get free flights but they're just seats that weren't purchased. Our pay isn't too great unless you're corporate.

I'll start at leaving manhattan beach.

So I caught the shuttle, walked to in and out, and then started walking around again. I was asking random people for directions to the nearest mall and finally some Mexican chick told me to hop on a certain bus (Mexicans were so friendly, idk how nikkas can say they hate us). I hopped the bus and there was a cute ghetto type of chick driving it and she had a fatty, she was cool too. I swear one thing that Portland doesn't have is cute hood black women. Anyway, I finally got to the mall, it was on Slauson, shyt reminded me of a Peewee Longway verse "kicking big shyt on Slauson with the locs, longway" lol. The mall was cool, I spoke to a couple of people randomly, one was an older black dude in nordstroms rack. He was asking me if they had layaway because he had found some gators but they were $300. I ended up buying this 3/4 baseball looking sleeved shirt and a burgundyish baseball cap that had the Cincinnati C and then wu thing the C it had 'uba'.

So my friend Raul, I was in Vancouver, BC, Canada (btw on my way home I met this cool older woman who was in her late 50's, she was a lawyer for the BC providence) and I stayed at a hostel, one that I'd stayed before and he was one of my roommates (it's weird, every time I travel somewhere, I make a friend. In San Diego it was the Indonesian engineer on business). We ended up turning up and becoming cool. He works for Hollywood, oddly enough he helps produce scores for films.

Back to the story, I picked me up and drove me around LA, once I found a place to stay. Finding a place to stay in LA is overly hard. I finally found a travel lodge, they wanted $145, I almost fainted.l, although Raul said I could stay at his place, but I ain't trying to be on First 48. So I paid the cost to be the boss. Raul picked me up and drive through certain areas, from Santa Monica to Hollywood and where the Chinese theater is at. He's a sick guy for that tbh. After we kicked it he dropped me off and I went to sleep, and went about figuring out how id get home....
