A superman game could work only if the developers stay true to supes. He has to be powerful period. I think a supes game has to like just caise with open world destruction.Now when it comes his enemies they have to be powerful metas or beast like creatues. His boss fights need to be similar to bloodborne while adding something new i think boss fights moving foward in some games should do away with health meters let us players use their weakness or the enviroment to stop them, but each time we fight a boss they adapt to our techniques. The only problem with supes is trying to continue a series for him.

God of war gave us the blueprint.
Start the game as all-powerful superman. During the first boss fight, you get exposed to a megadose of red sun radiation or kryptonite or something, sapping the majority of your powers.
You spend the game as a de-powered superman, working to regain your powers for the final ultimate confrontation.

How hard would that really be?

his weakness is protecting people. you need kryptonite to go after him but you need nothing to go after the people and he has to protect as many as he can. that could be the core mechanic, with limited time . it's a gold mine of side and random quests...everything from stopping muggers to stop shyt from exploding, terrorist plots, etc.

Yall need to just accept the fact that a superman game cannot work. He's just too powerful, and the restraints he imposed on himself are not the same that a video game player would with that type of power.

Flying yeah, that's easy, but the environment needs to be fully destructible and able to be manipulated by heat and ice. Physics engine would need to be better than any game out. Just not gonna happen, maybe next gen

there are hundreds of things that can be done in a world where anything and everything happens.
besides weak-ish mechanics is nothing a strong narrative cant fix.

Thats the thing embrace him being that damn powerful, but his ensmies have to be stupid powerful also

A superman game would be easy. All you have to do is play on...
1. the "superman delima" I.E he can't be everywhere at once
and
2. the intelligence angle I.E. out smarting supes

Also unlike other games the hit points shouldn't revolve around the main character "superman" the hit points should revolve around metropolis city itself. superman should be looked at from a game design stand point as the fist & feet that deals / blocks damage and metropolis city should be looked at as the body that absorbs damage.


Oh ....and leave him OP from the jump. The game should focus on threat management in different scenarios.
