I don't get the hate for Beats, Rhymes & Life. The album was phenomenal IMO and has aged extremely well, the production is amazing.

i get the hate, although i don't agree with it. but back then the bar was set so high for tribe comin' off the success of midnight marauders and before that the low end theory that when people heard beats rhymes and life they were kind of taken back from it because it had a bit of different feel to it. now while i don't think it's as great as the low end theory or midnight marauders or people's instinctive travels and the path's of rhythm, i've always liked it :manny:

but beats, rhymes and life really ain't a bad album at all and as you said, it's aged "extremely well, the production is amazin'" i agree, 100% :salute:

a tribe called quest; quite possibly the greatest group ever

rivalries are slim ( eric b/rakim, epmd, g-rap/polo, krs/scott, gangstarr, p.e.)

not many hip-hop discographies are 3 albums in a row flawless

timeless music and in many ways makes the artists in the parenthesis i mentioned outdated sonically

*edit*the hate for beats/life was for me was consequence. i was like "who is this nikka?" and even after i found out it was tips cousin i was still jaded.

i prefer the love movement

When i found out that Tip used Minnie Ripperton's voice for the Lyrics to Go beat. I still say he's one of the most underrated beat maker in hip-hop history
