Respect to Common but his album and this Tribe album aren't even in the same league. The production, sequencing and sound of this album is incredible and many levels beyond what Riggins did with Common's album. Q-Tip is one of the goats. For them to come back after 18 years and drop an album that I think might be their 3rd best when it's all said and done is something we have never seen in hip hop. I say 3rd best because while I respect People'a Instinctive I never considered that album a classic and there's only a few songs i ever listen to from that album. I think people just put that album in Tribe's top 3 because it was their first and it has classic singles.

The way they put this together reminds me of some of the great Wu solo albums where the guest artist are more than just features. They bring much more than that to the album and that's what Consequence and Busta did with this album. I never thought I'd like anything that either one of them did again and both of them really shine on this. Möbius is one of my favorite joints. Even Jarobi did his thing, at first his voice was a little hard to get into but after a couple of listens I got into it. The back and forth chemistry between Tip and Phife in Dis Generation is just :wow:

I listened to hip hop prior to The Low End Theory but that album made me love it. It was what I imagine a crack head goes through when they first get addicted after I heard that album I became obsessed with it. So to get an album this good from Tribe 25 years later is why even though I'm a grown ass man with a wife and kids I still love hip hop music.

And my physical copy should be here today :blessed:

heard this 3 or 4 times from front to back and it keeps growing on me, this is the sign of a dope album. its got vintage tribe written all over it

last time i heard something this good was probably ob4cl2 but i stopped bumping that after a couple of weeks, this tribe here tho, although its not perfect i could see my self playing this for a long time

why does it have to be a double disc tho? at about 60 mins long its perfect on one disc

i'm strict on ratings but this is something in the 4, 4.5/5 range, im gona get my hands on a physical copy soon

I don't think the physical would actually be 2 discs (anyone who has got their copy please correct me) it's just an artistic thing. Just like Death ceritifcate isn't an actual double disc even tho he has the life and death side

it's something that comes from vinyl and cassettes, where albums had to be broken up onto two sides

the Death Certificate tape had a "life side" and a "death side"
