Knowing how the inside of a desktop helps, but to really make money is knowing how to fix broken products. Do you know how to Solder? Probably not

Invest a couple hundred in old ass devices that need to be fixed.

Old consoles are good to work on, you won't see much in return, but the knowledge gained would be valuable. Buy those first gen android phones that have cracked screens/missing buttons and things like that...again, not much in return but the knowledge > all. Then go to older laptops/old PowerPC iMacs. Tablets are a bytch to work on sometimes, get something like a first gen iPad and start working.

Apple products that appear to be in good cosmetic condition that can run the latest software fetch a premium.

Be careful not to kill yourself, but it's not that serious if you take the necessary steps. Those G3 iMacs could get you in trouble if you didn't know what you were doing.
Makes sense...and yea I dnt know how to solder...but ya Im gonna look into and put some money into this

I jus hope im not overwhelmed and I dnt end up wasting money..

I really like the hustle and the knowledge seems worthwhile

Thanks for the "push"

I once got like 6 sega saturns for about $30 with controllers and all the hookups on eBay. Go for bundles like that...you might be able to salvage 2-3 from the bunch swapping parts out as long as they are the same models.

Cosmetic condition is extremely important because you will get the emotional buyers. Clean them out very well.

It's actually very easy to revive from most liquid spills if it happened fairly recently.

Take apart everything and leave disconnected for a full day
Pure alcohol and brush to remove corrosion
Rinse with water to clear everything off
Pat down dry with a towel all over
hair dryer on the lowest settings going in a circular motion...do not direct the heat to a specific part of the motherboard/part because it can melt solder
once everything is cleaned up and dried...put it back together and there is a good chance it will work

If not? I hope you are ok with replacing capacitors and shyt like that, but that is only worth it if you are dealing with a high value item.

About 2 months ago I had a macbook that someone sold to me very cheap because he spilled coffee all over it. I had to take it completely apart and then remove the keyboard key by key and had to order 4 small plastic hinges to get it all together.

If you are dealing with plastic products that look old (especially white or grey colored ones), go to Sally's beauty shop and get something called "Salon Care 40". It's a cream that is mostly hydrogen peroxide, but much stronger and foamier than what you are going to find at walgreens or something. Apply the foam all over the piece...cover it in plastic and place it under UV/Sunlight for 12-24 hours and by the time you clean it off the damn thing will look like new.

I can't believe women put that shyt on their head :snoop:

I just sold my old Beats Solo HDs on CL. I had to take $50 for them cause they sat on there for almost a month. I just wanted to get rid of them cause I have the Solo2 and Wireless Studios now.

I can't even get any takers on my Fitbit Flex with 3 wristbands and 2 chargers.

Everybody just lowballs you on CL. eBay is where people actually willing to spend money are at but Paypal and eBay eay your profits in fees.

Breh, you only deal with products that are very high in demand AND proprietary. Samsung, Apple, PlayStation products/games.

If you are trying to flip for just a few under what it costs retail you are doing it all wrong. The best way to do it is to try to buy off someone desperate or something that needs to be fixed. Fix it and flip it.

Beats = Not exclusive
Fitbit = Not exclusive

Apple - Macs, iPhones, iPods, iMacs, Mac Minis = NOBODY can make those
Samsung - Touchwiz experience + high in demand
PlayStation - Console with the most demand right now

That's how you go about this. Everything else? Tread carefully.
