You have to think. Most of the good music from the 2000s and earlier had producers that learned their trade in the 70s 80s and 90s. That era of musicians has retired or died off.

Profitability from the music has fallen off. Streaming doesn't pay for most musicians.

So it's turned into a numbers game and also trying to use music more as a background feature. It's not the main product anymore.

So that results in poorer quality music being made with no emotional attachments.
