Wiseman literally can’t catch a pass or rebound cleanly. Hands of stone out there

That is something that really concerns me. His hands haven't been great so far and it's not something players really develop this late in the game.

Depends.. are his hands bad..or are things moving too fast for him right now? If he's trying to make a play before he has the ball, that could be a reason why he's not catching the ball well.

It's because his mental clock is off.

It's why he goes barreling into the lane and doesn't see the defender standing right there to take the charge. It's why he has tunnel vision whenever he gets the ball and takes the shape of a black hole and doesn't make the right play. It's why he has trouble judging rebound trajectory and what to do on defense.

That can be mitigated, over time, but that's who he'll forever be; rarely ever do players change their basketball disposition. Especially ones who don't have that innate anticipation. It's the main reason why someone like Draymond has had a successful NBA career.

Funny thing to me is in games where he's playing under control his hands look fine, it's when he's struggling he starts fumbling the ball imo. I'd say his hands are decent overall at the moment.

Ultimately, I'd tell you not to worry about it. Wiseman looks like the type of player that will be so obsessed with getting better that over time he will correct any weaknesses in his game. He's going to struggle at times this season but he'll learn from his mistakes eventually. I expect him to be a 20/10 player in two seasons, possibly less.

I'm not a warriors fan but I really like Wisemans game. He's gonna be a great player down the line

I feel bad for him because under normal circumstances he'd be on a bad team and his mistakes wouldn't be highlighted as much. Due to the fact we're a playoff team and Kerr's system isn't easy even for vets to understand everything he does gets more scrutiny.

He's good enough to be the 5th or 6th best player on our team this year but they've gotta put him in the right spots to be successful and he's gotta have better situational awareness. He's a good faceup big man and very athletic but teams use his youth and aggressiveness against him alot. Most of his mistakes are very correctable tho such as giving the ball up in transition, knowing when your beat and not tryna chase blocks that lead to fouls, using your height to affect shots without jumping, and improving footwork so there's less traveling.

He'll be up and down all season but with a full offseason he's gonna look like a completely different player next year.

I said it the other night but I compare his hands issue to a receiver who starts turning up field before they actually secure the ball which leads to drops. He's thinking about the next thing before he's even mastered the first thing.
