Steve Kerr and the coaching staff can’t leave the stadium until they figure out how to beat the high school defense known as the box-+1

there’s nothing to figure out. Teams are going to continue to play that way until we have another player the defense cares about. If you were a fan of another team, who would you rather have shooting the ball Steph or literally any other player on the Warriors?

I feel like mulder should get more touches.

not having Klay or Paschall is gonna start to hurt.

the nuggets are bad defensively, we gotta find a way to feast

Also....don't have Steph off ball in those moments. It makes it easier on the defense. If the defense is playing that gimmicky ass defense then Steph should have the ball more and the offense should be more spread out. Steph with 2 shooters, Draymond and Wiseman.

I missed the game last night but I'm surprised to hear that Box and one gimmick defense is still giving us so much trouble

Did Kerr try having Steph with Mulder and Lee when this was happening? Any time that gimmick defense is being used I think they should have Mulder/Lee on the Wings. Draymond in the middle of the floor and Wiseman in the paint. You get Dray the ball in the FT line area and he'll have a variety of options (He can score himself with a floater, If Wiseman's man leaves him for a second that is an easy lob, If either Mulder or Lee's men leave them than he can pass to them and get them a good look from 3, or they can work the ball around and get it back to Steph)

I really hate to sound like an Armchair Coach but as someone who played HS ball I know there are numerous weaknesses to using a Box and one defense which is why the higher the level of basketball (College, Overseas, NBA) the less you see it.

yeah there needs to be another shooter there with curry, either mulder or Lee and defenses can’t go after curry as aggressively

Nuggets defense is pretty bad and they should eat + nuggets have been collapsing once they get the lead

on the other hand jokic should also eat. Will be interesting to see

We all know you should have shooters on the floor to combat that defense....except Kerr apparently


He used that lineup for a couple of minutes in the 3rd and it got us the lead but then went away from it in the 4th which is where we got outscored by 11.

It's why I wasn't really hard on Steph last night while nikkas on Twitter were on his head. If Steph not getting his in transition or the offense don't have shooting around him it's a frustrating defense to deal with.

They took Wiseman out and went small late last night too.

Bad game from him last night, but overall I’ve been pretty happy with him. Plays within himself and doesn’t make a ton of stupid mistakes. He’s a good backup point guard To have.
