8-8, 16 Games in. Dubs have done pretty well when you consider the obstacles in their way (Brutal Western Conference, Difficult Schedule, No Klay, No Marquese Chriss, Trying to develop Wiseman on the fly etc). It's probably time for Kerr to consider shaking up that starting unit. Wiseman or Oubre are the obvious choices to get sent to the bench. When you have a 19 year old player basically coming from High School to the NBA it's going to be tough. He's had lots of struggles and mistakes but also good moments and even small stretches of dominant play.
Looney starting at the 5 means we lose the offensive punch Wiseman brings but we get better defense and rebounding. Wiseman going to the second unit will probably have an impact on Paschall's production but would make that second group pretty dangerous imo. I think Poole/Mannion in particular would have great chemistry with Wiseman. Plus I think Kerr needs to get back to using Wiggins more with that second unit.
Kelly Oubre has struggled a lot this season playing with the starters. Kerr even tried having him with the second unit like he did with Wiggins and that seemed to work well initially but even that doesn't seem to be a solution. This is pretty concerning. If Oubre isn't playing well with the starters AND he's not playing well with the second unit what does that imply? Now, it's still early but Oubre really needs to step it up. And it's not like everything has been bad with KO, he's had moments of great hustle/defensive plays and he generally brings energy every single night despite if his shot is falling or not. It will be interesting to see how things play out for Oubre as the season progresses. Right now I'd say he's definitely NOT worth all the money the FO is paying to have him on the squad. Still KO is a guy I root for a lot and I hope to see him put it all together soon.
Sorry for the rant brehs. I'm home and bored on a Sunday. #DubNation
