Based on my own experience, I think op is right. I'm a good person because my man is a better person. Keeping it funky, I could have gone either way, plus we met so young I wasn't even fully myself yet.

it only works when the woman believes the man is a better person.

once she sees dude is a liar/cheat that goes out the window (in the case of Offset).
she may stay because for love, status, attachment etc... but she wont believe he's better than her.
At that point the respect lessens with more transgressions.

Yo I tried to rep this post. To hear a Black woman say that her Man helped her to be a better person is powerful you almost never hear a woman say this. This all Men want to do for women help them be the best person they can be.

I don´t think even the richest Man thinks that his wife doesn´t improve his life in some shape or fashion. Most women can at least give you a hint on how to appeal to other people maybe advise or how to say certain things or even what tie to wear.

No Man requires a woman to bow to him just acknowledge the importance that he is to you from time to time.
