It's simple: no one uses the word "male" to describe men. They just say men. "Female" sounds cole and clinical in a weird way.

For instance, let’s say i go to a friend and say, “This coworker is pissing me off”

The response to that question can very well be “male or female?” And that is even be more likely to be said than man or woman

I don’t know the context under which the man said female but 9/10 times it isn’t that serious and sometimes female is the more appropriate word to use . That chick single for a reason

People have always used men/male/women/girl/female interchangeably in free conversation. White incels and raging feminists should not dictate how people talk. IMO this is the part people don't get, the outrage isn’t really about the word itself, it’s about who is perceived to be using it.
