As for for how the world would progress without us. There would be no cultural breakthroughs every 2 decades as we have accustomed them, but instead the world would drag along in a never-ending cycle for centuries.
Technologically etc..they've stifled our intellectualism and growth in the sciences when we were the leaders once, out of fear of us dominating so they so they wont miss us there but will likely destroy the world in the next century anyway.
