I still can't believe this thread is still alive :snoop:

Anyways, I enjoyed his play, but the other bs that came with it is what turned a lot of REAL Knicks off, plus him acting like a bytch & being afraid to play Miami in the playoffs.

To be honest, it's pretty embarrassing that some Knick fans are celebrating this sh*t. I don't see them celebrating the day Melo was traded here, or any other random Knick historic facts. I mean hell, Tyson just got in the Knicks' history books with 3 straight 20 reb games, & motherf*ckers are out here celebrating the anniversary of Linsanity :gag:

Chandler is the Knicks MVP. I'll celebrate him every day with a thread if you'd like.

A-Rod's job was to deliver more championships. Melo by comparison needs to deliver 1.

Melo isn't expected just to lead you to that. He's expected to eventually lead you to a title. After seeing how Melo was struggling after the lockout and then seeing Lin playing correlating to wins, fans actually believed that Melo not being there (because he was hurt) was addition by subtraction and they felt the same way about STAT. Rationality goes out the window when NY is in the moment, so the Lin situation was clearly ridiculous, but is the notion that Melo can't win you a title not ridiculous? All fans can do is sit back and watch, but for that time, fans were convinced this Melo shyt wasn't gonna work, so fans wanted a do over. IMO, the Melo discontent really comes from the fact that he wasn't NY's first choice while the guy they really wanted has more NBA finals appearances than the Knicks have playoff wins, so the expectations only grow here for Melo.

As far as Lin's loyalty goes, he did what he had to do. It's not that Lin didn't wanna stay. It's that a team was crazy enough to overpay and he had to listen. He figured NY loved him as much as he loved NY but the Knicks had a limit to what they would spend for him. That's just business. Not everyone will be J.R. Smith, leaving money on the table to stay in NY.

Arod was always going to be hated because jeter never embraced him :leostare: the comparison is silly other team players /the fans were killing arod in the media while only posada and mo defended him . Torre and jeter treated him like a pariah.
Unless melo shyts the bed he would never get the arod hate . No other athlete outside maybe Eli in the beginning of his career would get hated like that .
And no hate I don't know any real Knicks fan that thinks like that about melo you definitely reaching with the bron thing . Melo gets some hate for the trade but ironically he should risk taking less money in a lockout year yet lin is ok to be money grubbing ? You realize in NYC he could of made the money back

Acting as if saying Chandler is the MVP of the team is a reach....

Melo could be so much better than he was if he didnt rely on taking long twos so much. He could be a much more efficient player...he doesnt like the contact.

You do know one of the reasons Melo's been playing better this year is because he cut out the long twos and started taking more threes. I would rather him take a three then a long two any day.

Also saying he doesn't like contact is complete nonsense. I think everyone on the coli would disagree with that statement. Every analyst in the NBA would disagree with you. It's bully ball for a reason breh. You might need to give up your basketball pass for a week for that statement, that's like me saying jr don't like tattoos.

Chandler in my opinion is just as important to the team as Melo, but that offense flows thru Melo. All those threes being knocked down all year at least 70% of them are the result of Melo either making them, assisting them or getting double teamed which opens up the floor for novak and others.

If people can't see that then :snoop:
