The fact that there were idiots asking Carmelo or Lin shows how dumb those Linsanity people were.

Even tho I aint a Knicks fan Melo is my dude (dat Cuse team) and I couldn't believe I had to defend him to Knicks fans (the real diehards rode wit em tho). I remember that crazy Chicago game helped turn the tide. I think I just posted on my FB after that "Still pickin Lin?"

Guys calling up saying melo would be happy to score 50 and loss :why: he's not a team player he's a bum etc.... I'm like the guys playing hurt and that's what you come up with ?
All the calls were I haven't watched basketball in years till Lin :wtb:

we were getting blown out the building this game because calderon was cooking lin something serious...d'antoni actually made a defensive adjustment and put shumpert on him which turned the whole game around. he got no props at all for that, that's when "linsanity" started making me uncomfortable. I was happy we were winning but all that "lins team" shyt was embarassing :beli:

Why you so scorned? nikkas can't even let mini bruce lee eat off his 2 weeks. It's embarrassing and feminine.

When mike Francesca was being the voice of reason on melo to these fans they should know they are wrong not to mention if you didn't watch basketball for years how would you know what melo was about ? Joe beningo was on the get rid of melo bandwagon too and he's a sports host so he should know better .

:heh: You right, if Francesa has gotta talk you down you know you in the wrong.

Dude doesn't care about BBall unless the Knicks are good (or have something happen people will call about), and even he knew Melo was the main guy.

Oh So now you nikkas hated linsanity huh :beli:
no, we all loved it at the time. But we quickly soured on it once his groupies went completely overboard, turning Lin from a great story into a larger than life figure, bigger than not only the Knicks but the league itself. Throughout his knick tenure, his "fans" directed racially-tinged, psychobabble at Melo, insisting that he be ex-communicated from the team, in order to build the team around Lin after 2 weeks. In addition, Lin's "85%" quote for why he couldnt lace 'em up during the 'offs did him no favors.

Of course, this "humble kid" gets offered a deal that far exceeded his worth, and he hops on it, signing with the team that cut him, rather than showing loyalty to the only organization that gave him a chance (if it didnt work out in ny, he woulda been out of the league...he'd already been cut twice)

Since signing an all star level deal, hes put up average pg stats, and led the rockets to average results. That hasnt stopped him from receiving endless praise, GQ covers, and all kinds of extra bullshyt at the expense of other more accomplished players. So with all that, I'll let you tell the story of "linsanity"
