Interview on how he came up with the character 'Chad'.

One of the most horrific movies I've ever seen with no blood or gore, no violence. Just dialogue driven. Dude was a true sociopath...what makes the movie scary is its guys/people just like him in real life that we have to deal with. :wow:

anybody who wants to see it just pm me

Neil LaBute (the writer director of In the Company of Men) must have a serious issue with women because he writes some of the most despicable male characters I have ever seen. CHad was a sack of shyt adn then it was kicked up a notch with Cary (played by Jason Patric) in LaBute's follow up film Your Friends and Neighbors.

haven't watched Your Friends and Neighbors but I have heard about it.

That dude Chad is the sickest characters I've ever seen NOT kill a person. By the time the movie was finished I just :merchant: because dude literally reminds you of people you've come across in your lifetime. :damn:

LaBute has had trouble hitting the highs of his earlier films with the stuff he started doing for major studios. A couple of his more high profile flicks have all been pretty bad and you wouldn't even think were directed by him:
DEath at a Funeral (the Chris Rock/Martin Lawrence movie)
Lakeview Terrace (Samuel L. Jackson harrasing Kerry Washington and her white husband)
The Wicker Man (the most unintentionally funny movie ever made)

The closest LaBute has come to a movie like his early stuff was The Shape of Things where he flipped the script and had a woman as the manipulative a$$hole protagonist.

:wow: that's one of the worst films I've ever seen. How in the world did he go from something like "In the Company of Men" to that :scusthov:

That had to have been forced...no way he made that up from his own desire. I'll try and check for Friends & Neighbors and The Shape of Things later this week. :ehh:

It's possible he was a fan of the British original film that was actually good and that s why he agreed to do the remake.

Just seen the movie for the first time. Incredible script, and Aaron killed it. Great critique on the type of sociopaths that rise through the ranks in companies everywhere, in a capitalist world where the strong prey on the weak.
