It's very sad.
When the Chicago chapter got back we all got tested at the University of Chicago.

Most people just thought maybe it was just altitude sickness. But we've all been skiing for years so it was an odd thing to come down with.
I personally did not get sick and have any symptoms, but from my group 16 people got sick. Odd thing is, none tested positive for the virus. I've been quarantined since I got back and still have not developed any symptoms.
The group from Detroit may have had like 25-30 people get sick, but I think only 3 tested positive for the virus.
The sad thing about it all is that the group trends older because younger blacks are either not interested or don't have the money to go on ski trips.
Coverage of the virus had just ramped up after we were already there. If we knew the extent of the pandemic, the event would have been canceled without a thought simply because of the older demographic of the group.

I talk about it all the time on here. All the socializing that we do is why it was able to spread. People from all over the country may have taken the virus back to their own cities.
Do it! They have a black NBS ski club in almost every city.

The membership is getting a bit older because the younger members can’t really keep up with the cost. The younger members are called Renegades and will still attend many of the trips but not formally with one of the established clubs. They come on their own, stay in Airbnb’s instead of the hotels, etc. But it’s cool. Lots of professionals, lots of Greeks, if you’re into that scene.
We hit up every major ski resort in the country, ski, party, shop, network, hookup.Many people have met their spouses on an NBS trip. It’s a lot of fun.
