If Drake all of a sudden starts rapping about his life on some 2005-2010 emo/ MC/Budden shyt, and sounds sincere/honest/vulnerable, I think people would be cool with it. That's what he kinda tried doing very early on in his career. But he's too far gone and a pop artist/product, plus was never honest with his listeners or with himself, so it's not gonna happen.

Meh. The best Drake can do rapping wise is a word salad like Omerta, but he already tried that on The Heart Pt 6 which was so weak compared to the stuff Kendrick had that most people called the battle. Drake has no real charisma or variety of flows and vocal tones. He's limited on the mic with his nasal 2D flow. His lyrics been washed and repetetive. Not to mention he got character assassinated and it will take a miracle to turn the public after all this ridicule. Drake got checkmated a long time ago.
This is why I always thought the whole “Drake needs to do a straight rap album” was always a bad take. Its taking away his strengths and leaning into weaknesses

People didn't call the battle because of the way drake was rapping on that song, it's what he was rapping about that ended the battle.

He spent half of the song defending himself from pedophile accusations and mentioned multiple times that he was done replying and that he regretted the whole thing.

The shyt was a lyrical white flag.

Why do people never post the whole thing?
He had other tweets, including one where he says Drake could never match Kendrick as a rapper
