As for whether Africans have ever viewed fellow brothers as inferior beings, that's up to how well you know history. If you understand that within the continent there were several empires/tribes – whose members had allegiance only to the members of their communities – then you won't be quick to dismiss the possibility that Egyptians viewed the empires of the East (Ethiopia) as inferior and vice-versa. Definitely not because of skin color of course, but most likely because of differences in religious beliefs/culture and customs.

I didn't get that from his post....I got the message that as a black person in this society you got to be aware of how you can be perceived possibly at all times. People have lost their lives for being in a starry eyed "race doesn't matter" mindstate. You can't tell the next generation of black children to be on that ish...it's not helpful. Schooling black people on navigating a white supremacist society is one thing...telling them that racism is just "hurt feelings and insults" like you've alluded to is another. There's a whole system in place designed to make it more than "hurt feelings and insults".

I can't believe there are black folks that haven't paid attention to the larger frame of reference in regards to American Life due to history. There's more at play here.
