I don't think they sound similar, but probably cuz of how much I listen to soulo. As for your premise, gtfoh, ab soul demolishes stalley and I like 80% of stalley's music

it's not that Stalley is bad... it's just no comparison if you try to put him next to soul. Soul arguably had one of the best albums to come out last year
