Even where I worked (which was way smaller than Chicago) when I was a cop, gang and non-gang shootings in the low-income apartment complexes was like a regular occurence. Gangsters aim usually sucks, not always but usually. Forensic examiners would find bullets in walls, doors, trees, ground, cars and sidings in the general vicinity.
