I'm not a big fan of the move, but had some stat guys look into play-by-play data for me.

Only ~5% of possessions are longer than 14 seconds following an offensive rebound anyway, so we'll probably only notice a difference in end-game situations when teams get an offensive rebound and want to run out the clock.

I guess this could lead to more comebacks in that sense? Regardless, probably won't change anything until 4th quarter situations.

I haven't thought about this enough, but how would it effect late game intentional fouling?

Potentially less intentional fouls

For ex, if a team with a one poss. lead misses a shot with 23 seconds left and they get the offensive rebound, instead of being essentially forced to foul, the opposing team can decide whether they want to foul or if they want to play D and try to get the stop, since they'll be guaranteed to get the ball back regardless with enough time to set something up, which wouldn't be the case under the old rules.
