Naw I have heard the same about the North PWIs. I am from the north, but went to college in the south. Up north and Down south racism the same they just suger coat it better up north.
My sister went to University of Indiana and I was like these white folks just as bigoted as when she went to college in the south.
Damn breh, I feel so bad for you. At least you had professors who stuck to just teaching. My professors were activist as Fukk. They were liberal so I was cool with it, But my black professors ( all but one were male), use to go in with the feminism. Made me feel bad to be a man
.Sometimes I just wanted professors who would just teach and shut up. So I guess there's some bright spots.
Im sorry you had a bad experience at your PWI.
Ain't no thing homie. Went to two PWIs got my BA from one and got a MS from the other.
Also went to summer programs at two PWIs in high school.
In the end I don't even trip it just better prepares you to work on corporate America. Plus I grew up in a prominently white neighborhood so the shyt was the same old same old to me.
Maybe I just lucked out in NYC. But you're correct about the subtle racism up here. They think they slick

I did the summer college programs in high school as well ( Fordham). At least you got your BA and MS. Not a lot of brothas can say that. Salute breh.

Im sorry you had a bad experience at your PWI.
Meant to say too that the black professors always held the black students down at the PWIs that I attended. Not only that them kats had an open door policy and would try to help us out. They usually were proud as hell to see us do well.
But as you know there just aren't that many black professors at PWIs.

So the least I can do is suck it up and succeed......that is the least I can do to pay tribute to them...
Plus my dad did not play if I didn't get an education he would have called me a slacker for the rest of my life...
A lot of people in these comments bigging up HBCU alumni that are 45 and older - I feel you because members of my family went to HBCU's and are doing extremely well..
they come from a different era, education was something important and revered back then..most of these people would have done well in life no matter where they went, an HBCU just gave them an avenue that was closed off for previous generations
now with PWI's actively pursuing minority applicants, more 2 year community colleges, trade schools, the "for profit" schools (full sail, ITT tech, Devry)...HBCU's aren't as relevant or as necessary as they once were...
