You probably right and that's the Shii that irks me.

Like I said I've been at white schools and now a predominately black school. At a white school you're screwed bc professors think you're dumb as hell and racism is a factor.

At black schools nikkas just don't give a fukk, the Administraion (seems like) there just there for a check. There are some good professors, who have taught now famous people who have "made it" but still.

Shii is sad bc at the end of the day a lot of people here are getting fukked over financially. It's a known fact the presidents here are stealing money :upsetfavre:

It's just frustrating but please nikkas, think for yourselves. Don't be a statistic:wow:

What the ratio of male to female staff ?

I'm just venting a bit but all of this is fact based. I was at a state school (PWI) before I transferred to an HBCU on a military scholarship. Bear in mind in order to accept the scholarship and ultimately pursue the military career I wanted, I had to finish my last 2 years at an HBCU.

I'm a little dissatisfied with a few things:
-Lack of funding. There's no gym. We were allowed to use anoother gym down there street but a fight broke out, and now everyone from my school is banned. Even though we pay an athletic/gym fee:what:
-Mf's here blatantly skip class for 3-6 weeks at a time. Why pay 30k a year to not go to class?:mindblown:and then when we do have to do some work i.e. Writing a 1-3 page paper, these same people are complaining like the professors are pulling teeth. At the state school the black pop was like 45%, but if you were fukking around academically, the other black people there would sort of distance themselves from you. -Overcharging for dorms
-I rarely get emails in my student email account. On the rare occasion I get a reminder to vote for SGA or something. No reminders for internships or job fairs. But I get an email for the Que cookout we had last Sunday :dahell:
-Administraion losing documents for W/e reason
-People are scheduled to graduate one semester then they "magically" need 2 more classes to graduate aka the school wants them to stay longer so they can get more money
-Before I even came I had to get some documents signed by my (soon to be) major chair of the program I'm in..this woman took 6 months to sign 2 pieces of paper. Then acted like I was harassing her when I called to check on it, when I had to turn the necessary paperwork to my boss:why:
-Students more worried about Greek life, running for SGA, etc then actual work. Like wtf man. Ive gotten some draws but yo in the grand scheme of things that's a small part of the equation..you can always get draws if you decent looking but I have a problem with these schools being poorly ran and they try to cover it up under the guise of "We need HBCU's" well Shii I agree. I also stand by what I've noticed in the time I've spent at one:manny:

I'm not bashing HBCU's but It's just frustrating..I feel like they're robbing students smh charging 30k a year and Shii don't even work right or run smoothly.
About students not going to class, if you go to a public HBCU, a lot of students may be there for free. When I was in school, a lot of in state kids said they called and told them just enroll and they won't have to pay anything. Throw in refund checks and it's pretty much like the school is paying them to be there :manny:

I went to a PWI and HBCU
Same bullshyt in my opinion, regardless of the university.
You have some students that don't come on time, don't show up at all, or have different priorities.
I will say that the problem with a lot of HBCUs, mine being Ala St. was that they dropped the standards for entry to get in, and you really had kids with no business in college being there and that was a problem.

As for funding, ASU, we had 2 gyms and a outdoor court, they tore the outdoor courts down but they still have the gym at Lockhart, (they had some major building though since i've worked or attended), they had multiple gyms though, on top of the sport specific gyms like football only weight room basketball only weight room. Unprofessional dept heads are usual, I've seen the same bullshyt when I sent to Troy Mont and AUM.

Didn't wanna come at any hbcu grads sideways, I'll be one by this time next year.

Was more so just venting early in the morning:manny:

I still stand by my complaints but in the grand scheme of things it's probably more of an inconvenience than a real hinderence

I don't think it's :cape:for them. I think it's at least respecting what they meant for the black community. I was taught by black professors (eleven classes in total), and was surrounded by black organizations and groups; and to be fair those were the best experiences of my life. So I could respect people who want defend them passionately. Just my opinion.:yeshrug:

Graduating with my bs in a month. Had one black woman teacher (back in high school)never had a black man teacher or professor.

It sucks! And I have had like 3 black classmates out of 2000+ in my computer science classes.

Hbcu aren't all perfect, but at least there are black people there damn.

Low key sounds like OP is just in a "b.a." Major though :mjpls:

You do know that the majority of black professionals present day,(lawyers, doctors, engineers, execs, etc) went to an HBCU at one point.....

Hell Oprah went to Tennessee state....... Herman Cain went to Morehouse. Lonnie Johnson went to Tuskegee...... and so on and so on
That bum ass nikka doesnt care.
