People are forgetting as you've mentioned that the Cavs will also have a healthy Varejao back this season along with Mozgov & Love in the lineup.

Yes Lebron isn't leaving again and if he does that's on him but he could still leave and you be stuck paying Tristan 90+ a year.

He has leverage because he could walk after this year for nothing & the Cavs won't be able to replace him with the way their payroll is. He signs the QO & they can't trade him without him approving it, so it's not a situation where they just trade him at the deadline. Somebody will pay him regardless next year because everyone will have money & have to spend it on guys like him when the big names sign.

I really wonder how Lebron feels on all this. One hand, that's his guy and he's gotta support that. On the other, his team is going to be seriously strapped in terms of potential for improvement and he's going to have to carry a heavy load as his career closes. Interesting dynamic there.

The team is already strapped but they are also stacked. With or without Tristan they are gonna be strapped. They won't be so stacked if they lose him and more importantly, Bron.

If LeBron & the Cavs win a championship next year (2015/2016) there is no guarantee that he will stay in Cleveland the following season plus Bron could still leave after his two year deal if the Cavs are unsuccessful winning a chip. Either way, as mentioned above, in any of these scenarios, you put the organization in a stranglehold talent wise & financially paying a limited bench/role player 80 million or more over 5 years.
