not necessarily true. IF you are the boss you just can't always walk away from the job and do what you want hence not having freedom. SUre you may be able to call the shots but that doesn't equal freedom.
And conversely working for someone else or for a company doens't mean youcan't be truly happy either.

Think about some dude that is in to engineering or development or research or something. That company may be able to give him tons of money and resources to do the job while at the same time personally taking none of the risk if something fails.

Nothing is black and white. I know plenty of dudes that are their own boss that really don't have freedom like that. Always busy, can't go take trips, can't be spontaneous or just do what they want.
While I know lots of dudes that work for "the man" that can put in for some time off and be free to go at a moments notice.

I know a couple of people that got $80k/yr + $10k signing bonus from Amazon and Microsoft so those numbers aren't farfetched. C.O.L in silicon is expensive

It's funny because I worked for Amazon here in Pittsburgh at there 2nd biggest sorting center and was making 15 an hour doing nothing but parcel scanning and shipping placement 6 days a week 10 hours a day.

That's about $45,000 a year, Amazon is a great company, pays well even for minor jobs.
