no one could ever explained to me his lack of success....He would have mega hits and album would drop like a dud he could spit etc i never understood how dude never popped off he's always been an underrated artist to me...And can't say its lack of exposure or anything I guess folks just didn't fukk with him.

I'm tired of defending this dude yo .

I will never understand why he never popped !!

Most of his shyt is flames and he is consistent !!!

nikkas who live in the gym knows ace hood runs the gym .

Man this nikka got some many songs that bang man its painful to see him never really pop.

Yea nikkas just don't fukk with him but we can say that for wale and he found a lane :patrice:

For as much as people hate wale the bytches love him and nikka usually will respect a couple songs of his .

One of my favs

Still my homie :mjcry:

The only hit this nikka had was because Future blessed him on the hook, that's all people think about when they think about the song "Bugatti"
Hustle hard was a hit and he made the hook

And that's where it stops lol

I also like a song called "Hope" off of his album

Ace is trash doe imo

I thought he was generic too til I listened to Starvation 2. He's dope

yea, Why changed my perception of him. i was looking for some material from the producers (Sean C & LV from Bad Boy) and came across it. i like the turnt shyt, i mean thats his bread and butter but he can write a little bit. puts that pain in his voice

sometimes relationships just go stale, Khaled gave him a platform to succeed but no one bought his albums. hes still a 'name' 5-6 years in the game, not everyone can say that. hes done ok

exactly I can't explain it he's prime example of an artist that I don't understand how or why they haven't blown...And we can't say that he wasn't pushed either or that he didn't have hot songs or that he wasn't featured...The dude legit touched every block and just never blew.
Simply didn't connect with any audience. Didn't standout.

Also his place in hip hop wasn't organic. He felt pushed.

He and Meek Mill are similar artists but Meek had that grassroots support and is a bigger character. Even though they rap similar Meek is known for shouting, Roley's, motorbikes, "being real", being emotional, beefing with people, trying envoke gangsta rap - the spirit of Jay Z, DMX, late 90's east coast gangsta rap with a modern sound etc. Ace Hood? Looks Hatian, has nice locs.. makes good gym music - dassit.

Hood is in the worst position. You won't find anyone that says he's wack because nobody cares about duke. People just don't care.

He never went off because his flow isn't anything special. It isn't bad, but it's not Tupac shyt or anything like that, and he talks about the same generic shyt that every other rapper talks about - you can't separate yourself like that. Plus there's nothing special or unique about him; I mean, he lifts weights and wears jewelry, but so do a lot of other rappers. He's just not very charismatic. Lastly he has no personality, and that rolex thing was a shytty look.

It is what it is. :manny:

I've seen this story too many times...

He's just not a star... :yeshrug:

With everything Khaled has probably done for him he probably still feels like it wasn't enough. Every artist in the industry that I know that didn't get where they wanted to be always blames it on the highest person in charge... usually a manager but in this case Khaled.
