Tyga does bigger shows/anchors tours also. He probably takes home a couple mill a year when every bite out of it is taken. I don't think Ace is seeing that.

Yes, was impressed with his humility and sense, that said...I thought he was going to explain/elaborate on his record deal situation not just move past and not explain shyt about why he doesn't get advances or royalties....

Assuming they're not just forever lodged in the bushes, he's not gonna see royalties for an album that drops today for like a year regardless...that's assuming he recoups, i'd be shocked if he sells 50k first week so it'd be no shock if he didn't....getting no advance (which ain't shyt but a loan drawn against earnings on the back end) helps with that, but who knows....that accounting takes time...khaled no doubt prolly owns a nice portion of his publishing, but if he retained some of it he should get publishing checks from radio play before any royalties owed get distributed

I know royalties are a long term thing, and I get he may not see them for a minute, but it was just that he didn't try to clarify any of the business dealings, giving credence to the 'bushes' theory, and why these dudes need to be more financially/business savvy.

How does a rapper or producer get their publishing tho?

By not selling it or giving it away. The part of a song you create (lyrics, beat, arrangement, chorus, etc) is your percentage of the song or your publishing. By keeping it & not selling it (as many artists do for various reasons) you can still earn money from your music being played for years after it came out
