Somebody will always disagree with a thread moved here and a thread locked there, yes? :hula:
I dont want to tell you how to do your job, friend but some topics, you just have to let run their course. Especially when they're generating Clicks. They may have controversial opinions but if its just a discussion with opposing views without nudity, exposals, threats of violence, etc. It should be allowed, to ride. Most of these threads only have a 48 hour Max shelf life before ADD kicks in and friends move on to another topic, friend.

:whoa: Do you think the gender threads are getting on the level of race baiting in terms of how upset they make people? I dont see the complaints so i dont know? I dont think they've become that vicious. Have they ?:ld: Some race threads have validity and others are used as a vehicle to prove inferiority of another race. Thats wrong.

The reason why the rules seem inconsistent is because the admins don't have the subjectivity mods do. They are behind the scenes working on the technical, legal, financial, promotional aspects. I can see something and go ":ehh: That's not so bad." But if it causes issues behind the scenes and threatens the day to day operations of the forum then something must be done about that particular issue. Someone else may break the same "rule" and nothing happens. That's usually because no one reported it, discussed it with the admin or threatened some type of outside intervention.

I think I'm pretty lax. I don't swing the moderation hammer at all. But I think a few inconsistencies here and there as it applies to rule applications are better than the forum being in some sort of legal quagmire. Also, the spirit of freedom that brought this forum into being was to foster entertainment and fukkery. A lot of this shyt isn't entertaining. You fed us well over Christmas with some exposals but how much of TLR is really good shyt like that? There's very limited conversation here. When posters discover that a certain topic riles people up they remake and remake and spin. Everybody's trying to make everyone else mad.

:umad:

No :umad:

NO :umad:

Nah b, :umad:

I guess we're all some angry motherfukkers here. May as well put Cam on board.

If the lax rules (and they are lax) don't lead to what they were laid out for what's the point? The Bks got rejected from numerous ad companies because they didn't want to compromise the integrity of the forum. How much longer can they do things like that though if it's all so someone can make the 6th "Black Women Ruin Everything About the Universe" thread? At some point it needs to be curbed. Even interesting topics turn into race/gender threads.

As I said before, personally I'll go whichever way the wind blows. The race/gender threads get a lot of views and responses. Maybe that's what you want. But the admins are saying it doesn't paint a good picture so before any heavy-handedness comes down I just wanted to being this to the people. I haven't even done anything yet.

My OG post wasn't aimed at you in specific.

I've always defended black women on here, yet somehow i'm the official scapegoat for all shyt wrong at the moment. I agree with the BK's stance on blatant race/gender trolling, its disgusting. However, only 2 or 4 people on here consistently "race bait"....sorry to tell the higher ups this but almost any topic in society can be legitimately connected to race and gender. A lot of women on this board have a weird sense of entitlement and feel that a certain demographic them shouldn't have their flaws or short comings discussed, let alone criticized and try to extort the system. That too is disgusting. And its more than mere inconsistency, its rules suddenly being created and enforced for certain people and not others, with customized interpretations. That doesn't paint a good picture either. The whole "everybody is wrong", school yard break it up so nobody has hurt feelings shyt can only go so far.

Just be honest and admit that certain people will be pandered to over others instead peeing on our heads and saying its rain is what i'm asking the system to do, I guess.

I understand most of yall from sohh so its a foreign concept but I'm tell you ahh had it right when they did it. One section dedicated for females in particular and girly topics, a section for co-ed general discussion, and a section dedicated to the drege of posting society. No toes are stepped on, everyone has a platform, as well as the ability to just not click on the forum. :ld:

Edit: Most important part of this is inconsistencies can be avoided, let certain groups have the choice to be in certain general discussion sections rather than cramming a slew of different people into one place. The co-ed forum can be a civil middle ground between all of the forum and all the excessive threads find new homes in new sub forums.

nah. It would be better to just nuke TLR and have no "off-topic" or "general" section instead.

I don't think so.

I don't think so.

Well we'll agree to disagree.

But I'm certain a "general discussion" forum would be just as dysfunctional as this place unless admins and mods take a more stern approach and by that point you've pretty much betrayed what the coli was made to be. @Mowgli called it when this place opened too.

Can the admins add this rule to the site members.

This rule involves rep.

Rep is dependent on the members of the site and how they view members' posts.

If you have a certain amount of negs, let's say 200-, you shouldn't be allowed to make threads and posting should be limited to 20 posts per day.

Some might abuse the system, but its seem fair since when most people negs are 400- they most likely deserve it.

People like MariahCooper and mr617 negs are well deserved and they shouldn't be allowed to make threads; their threads are the same and used as bait.

Again, this can be easily manipulated. A group of posters who do not like another poster can neg them to easily -400 in two days. Look at we did to @Wcthesecret :heh:

I don't agree with that. Sometimes neg rep could be a case of circumstance. What if in a certain forum someone violates and a group decided to run a neg train them, doesn't make them a bad poster just means they may of displayed a bad opinion or one not agreeable to the majority or more outspoken group. Rep is subjective at times, what if they have a high neg rep number but a shytload of daps?

I don't think we need to get into the business of barring people from posting or silencing opinions. :ehh:
