Action Bronson is only popular because he's a white, harmless copy of Ghostface

why is it that when wayne was on his free associating random bar swag nikkas was hating on it and saying he wasnt a real lyricist, but this piggly wiggly pinkboy does it while doing his best ghostface impression and he's nice and got bars

Weezy wasn't really off the wall with it, thats why. That style worked for Ghost cuz he juxtaposed surreal ass vivid shyt, & while random as fukk it was well selected, & the details reward repeat listening. & Lets not act like he didn't get shyt for it -- people talk hella shyt to this day, dismissing the rest of his catalog cuz of his Supreme Clientele style.
Weezy's free association shyt sounded lazy :manny: regardless, if u dont like that style why you talkin bout Weezy's version?

this doesn't have anything to do with wayne, i just thought the double standard was funny :jawalrus:

wayne is a much more cohesive and coherent songwriter than ghost or this weak pillsbury imitation version of him, i dont think anyone could argue that

can anyone even name a song ghostface wrote with a clear topic to it?
most of Ghost's catalog is actually nothing like Supreme Clientele homie. He's created some of the clearest, most coherent, stinging, detail-oriented story telling tracks the game ever seen. His verse off 'Impossible' is still seared in peoples minds -- the blood on the jacket, & the life passing in your own hands.

& 'Maxine' is probably the best, most entertaining, hilarious Blaxploitation flicks that never was: :whoo: & Besides the "abstract" shyt, & the "storytelling" shyt, prolly the bigger portion of Ghost's catalog is actually just about women.

Anyways, let's get back to the better idea here: that Bronson is just the fat white harmless lovable jolly oaf version of secondhand re-heated Ghostface leftovers:

That's largely TRUE! he definitely gets Media benefits just off being white -- hipster media at this stage, & Big Media if he gets to that point will def more readily hype whatever is the next 'Great White Hope'. But, if they're not actually doing anything else right then they dont get too far with just privilege.
Bronson is actually doing it right, from the beats he picks, to the larger than life personality, to the references & phrases he brings, & to the ACTUALLY RAPPING VERY WELL (regardless of influence).

ghostface just old and giving political answers now, if this was right after Ironman dropped i gaurantee bronson would get jumped by a dozen staten island crack demons on ghost's behalf
THAT IS ENTIRELY TRUE.
"I don't want nikkas sounding like me... on no album! You know what I'm saying? For real cause I'mma approach a nikka man"
But, also, besides Ghost getting old & flabby, it's also been more than 10 years plus+ removed. Biters taking your shyt before you've had the chance to really blow up with it yourself is wildly disrespectful. But honestly, once it's been past 10 years later & the original been had ate all they wanted off of that style til they dont even use it anymore, then that's indisputably more along the lines of tribute than bite.
Taking influence & re-using in new contexts is necessary for the development of the game.

I would say that Bronson has come into his own quite a bit more since I first heard him & thought he sounded exactly like Fat Joe pretending to be Ghost. It's definitely still there, the voice is still similar but he's stretching out his deliveries much more now. They still share similar attentions to absurd details, & the food references still definitely bring Ghost to mind. But by now he's letting his own personality shine thru & really develop his own flourishes. Says shyt that only he would say.

& you're right, he is a likeable jolly cave oaf -- but I wouldn't necessarily agree with the "harmless" part. You seen the video of him just randomly chucking that bytch off his shoulders?? He seems a bit unhinged, like the type to genuinely not give much of a fukk if presented the opportunity. If I were to bet, I would assume he's done fukked up things that would be depressing to think about. Or be hilarious in the right context.

Ultimately, you are correct: many people do indeed like him because he is (A) white (B) likeable & (C) reminiscent of one of their favorite artists...
The only one worth having a problem with is the white privilege, but thats not anything he can do anything about. :manny:

I don't care much for Bronson, but how can you not like Ghostface? He's the complete MC.

Anyone so invested in what other people choose to like is a fukking loser anyways.

OP is a bytch ass racist piece of shyt who can't stand to see a white man doing what he dreams of doin but will never be able to. So instead he sits on an internet forum and bytches about his success on his Tapatalk workin his McDonalds drive thru job.

why is it when nikkas mention swagger jackers or these new rappers biting someones whole steez, no one brings up how this obese cac b*stard stole Ghostface's entire swag, flow, delivery, voice, style, subject matter, image and persona...basically fukking everything

but since he's white and goofy and friendly yall dikkriding the hell out of this fukkin culture thief imposter tubbalard fakkit....i listened to that new bullshyt he put out and couldnt believe my ears, i aint heard such flagrant biting and jacking since i listened to LiveLoveASAP or whatever that fakkit shyt was called

you sheep nikkas just see the corny hipster covers of his CDs and his stupid ass videos and get caught up in the image, you dont even realize you gettin fed some 38 year old wop's secondhand reheated leftover rendition of ghostface at the height of his PCP usage

ghostface aint shyt anyway, truth be told hes only popular because hes a over the top flamboyant cornball just like this cac tryna be him :manny: both these losers can keep that stupid dusthead rambling bullshyt back in the 90s where it belongs

They are nothing alike. The only things similar are the NY accent and the stream-of-consciousness flow. All other comparisons stop there.

the only similarities is the voice and delivery... subject matter, image and persona are nothing alike

I wouldn't even say that. Voice wise, they aren't all that similar, imo. Now there are some spots here and there where you can hear some simliar tonality, but it's rare to mistake the two. Ghostface is more high-pitched.

ghostface just old and giving political answers now, if this was right after Ironman dropped i gaurantee bronson would get jumped by a dozen staten island crack demons on ghost's behalf

and he probably was a very nice guy to ghostface, he should be since he owes his entire career to ripping him off

whats wrong with mega :dwillhuh:

I actually agree with this. A more youthful Ghost would have called him out. But that doesn't mean Bronson is biting him.

Southerners still showing their overwhelming ignorance to New York culture (hiphop) in 2012 ha. They've got similar voices at times, can't knock him for that it's fukking natures fault. Nah but really, they do sound a bit the same but it's only when it comes to voices IMO, rappers don't give a fukk about maybe sounding like someone else as much as the 80s when cats would differentiate themselves to the point where their voices and deliveries on a track would have you shocked when you heard them in a interview. Like two different people.

If his voice was different people wouldn't draw any parallels, blame his parents for fukking I guess.

It's a bit suspect when he says line like "On some jodeci shyt" though..
