Ideally each one should be worth paying attention to, but that's unrealistic in the 24 hour news cycle with everything going on in the world. To keep it honest, other than us Americans largely don't care about black youth killing each other unless it fits an agenda such as police overtime, prisons, crime bills, etc.. That was me growing up in North Dallas. Skillman/Audelia/Royal/Forest.....had classmates in fancy 2-story homes and classmates in apartments that were basically like the projects with a nice leasing office.

This is true. Lived only a year in DFW and you had the hood, suburbs and isolated million dollar cac plantation mansions all within 2 or 3 blocks, and the school bus picked up kids from each area all within a 10 minute span.

I wasn't HS age when I lived there, I was younger, so we was too young to really understand how wild that is. I'm sure those kids grew up and the richer ones probably had to overcompensate to fit in with the hood kids. Like you (or another breh said), nobody wants to deal with being seen as soft cuz they from the suburbs

My little cousin goes to this school (he's home safe) and just a couple weeks ago, the exact same thing happened in Virginia at a school my aunt (she's safe too) works at. Same situation of a young dude saying he was getting bullied and everything. This is crazy

The problem here is black parents run to these suburbs and work all these hours and think they did all the necessary work when a child requires more rounded structure than that.

So while you're working and being tired at home from work hip hop is raising your kids

Living in a big house in the suburbs=/=raising your child right. You still gotta do the dirty work of molding and guiding your child. A lot of young nikkas get masculinity from hip hop that they simply didn't get from their fathers for whatever reason

I'm from the hood and moved to the suburbs in high school and WATCHED the suburbs transform because I wasn't the only hood nikka there and nikkas not about to suddenly think we some hoes. And that was in 05
