i couldn't imagine none of this going down in NYC public schools, they had AC's in portables since the 90's. don't think they were never not there.

None of these people electing to simply cancel the kid , say fukk em, he deserves what he gets etc ever seem to be the same people who actually get out here and help with things like mental illness bullying conflict resolution etc. There's always this expectation that people who do wrong should just know to do better how? Do you pay attention at all to the environment socially these kids going through? What national program do any of you participate in to combat the enormous amount of negativity these kids are exposed to?
It's a sad case all around. I personally don't get in these days and times how parents will continue to send their children into schools knowing their children are being heavily bullied. Even if it doesn't end in violence like this particular situation did, the negative character ramifications developed in kids being picked on are so severe that even if a kid is not shooting up a school as a youth they carry that negative effect with them throughout life and hinders their ability to build relationships with others. Back in the 80s 90s I get it a bit school was the only thing in town nowadays though with the huge opportunities for remote learning no way am I sending my kids into that kind of environment. There are entire homeschooling communities pretty much everywhere I have had my kids within them for a long time and they don't deal with things like this. I think since it's involving a black kid it's a great to to discuss alternatives to schools as we used to do them and find new ways to educate our children without them dealing with this and finding national programs to help fix the violence and negative activity at these schools.

So the 18 year old was getting bullied and robbed so he brought a gun to school and shot 3 people

How many posts or followers this person has doesn't matter, it could or could not be true. We have to wait until all the facts come out but no matter where you or anyone stands on the issue. I think we can all agree this wasn't your average "school shooting" where he came to school looking to go on a killing spree.
Locally its crazy seeing the narrative change on this story and how its been reported and perceived. Bullying is a serious accusation and resonates beyond race & class. And remember last year Dallas was in the national spotlight because a black kid was being bullied and forced to drink piss on camera so when the word bullying is thrown around people's ears perk up.
I'm not saying the bullying or the drug dealing accusations are true. But that's the first I'm hearing about him being a "drug dealer". I will just say if his lawyer and team can produce documents that he reported bullying to the school and district and nothing was done then its a strong possibility his(shooter) life wont be ruined by this.
Looks to me like he has a case for self-defense.

No, you get jumped. Repeatedly. You get pistol whipped. You get robbed. It can eventually elevate to you getting murked.
