Sad but unfortunately barring a miracle or an adverse event shyt is going down and get worse before it gets better. Take care of yourself in China breh, things are fine for now but anti-foreigner sentiment has edged up from when I lived there 10+ years ago and China has a history of going on foreigners when shyt gets tough. Nanjing anti-Black riots in 1989 and also more grumblings about Africans in Guangzhou.

Worst case for you (even as Canadian) is if US-China comes to blows. You might want to hop to Tokyo in that case.

China wants to be back on top so bad that they are making deals with everyone to make sure it happens. I would start getting worried when they get a massive middle class or are very close to it. As for now they want the #1 spot and are playing the long game to get it. Say America got any problems with a country China is there offering everything and more to get them to play ball and come into there umbrella.

But if push comes to shove Taiwan, Singapore Philippines and Kenya are all in play. But yeah if China and America come to blows, Tokyo is an option as well.
