I wonder if they gon show Dre before went gangsta, silver outfit and shyt....gotta tell the whole story:yeshrug:

Yo, I would think that they HAVE to….and in that respect, they have to show the breakup, Cube leaving, the emergence of Snoop, Eazy dissin’ Dre (in which case, who plays Suge in this movie?), and ultimately, Eazy dying and them all making amends afterwards. THAT is the whole NWA story, shyt don’t end when Cube left or even when Dre left. They have to show how the breakup affected Eazy and upset him, that’s a huge part of the story.

But that’s what I was saying earlier…they likely gonna sugarcoat all of that and/or skim over it, thereby watering down the finished product. That’s what happened with “Notorious”, they skipped so much vital shyt that it ended up looking hurried and incomplete.

That speaks to a bigger issue, though….like, why does Ray Charles’ story get to be in-depth and two hours long, but rapper biographies are mainly “Cliff Notes” versions of their careers and we’re lucky to have one come in over a hour and twenty minutes long. :snoop:

They may gloss (see what I did there) over it a bit, but probably not too much, cuz then you could make an argument that they need to include Sir Jinx and Will.I.am as well.

i gotta feel this will be on the level of tv type of movie :leostare:

what i really want is like a documentary on ruthless records, like how that welcome to death row documentary was. ruthless got a real interestin' story similar to how death row had because it was really the blueprint for all that came after it. i'd rather see a documentary than a movie honestly

i was peepin some ruthless footage on youtube and u correct, we need a history of it. they sold just as many records as death row. i did the numbers, they did 30 million albums in US alone. u would have felt they fell off after death row blew up but nah, bone thugs came through and put numbers on the board. ruthless just as important to west coast rap as def jamewas to ny. and yet its kinda been left to dust.

these kind of movies usually fail because 1, the sources they use while writing the script paint the main charaters in the most unrealistically positive, introspective light, lmao, shyt is laughable. and 2, the cast, when we already know the mannerisms and style of the people being portrayed anything even slightly off about the actor playing them is painfully clear and corny...not to mention the cast be lookin nothing like these people, these nigs prolly got Mario Van Peebles playin Suge Knight or some nut shyt like that. Rob Dyrdek as Jerry Heller

f gary gray using goodfellas and casino as a blueprint for the straight outta compton movie. a period peice about a world he knows very well having grown up in it.:banderas: like i said, its easy to be skeptical of these biopics but the director just gave me all the confidence cause of his past excellence.
