I can see your point.
From my observation tho the negative meaning of both siders came from posters who ride with Dems over they own people. So entrenched in the status quo of just voting to vote no questions asked.
Breh… I’m an original both sider myself.
I kept trying to push for the lesser of two evil argument until it became clear that most people using the title didn’t even understand politics or the history of the struggle for civil rights.
First year of college I wrote an essay on how 9/11 was just American politics shooting itself In the foot. This has to do with foreign policy decisions from both sides of the aisle.
The rise of the tea party and right wing extremism/white supremacy has taken over nuanced debate and criticism of both parties to the point that we have become the only demographic in the country that subverts our own political power.
nikkas claiming both sides aren’t even active in the community and just parrot internet talking points laid out by right wing influence. Getting blacks to step away from politics is a power move that I’ve been watching grow for the last 20 or so years. This isn’t organic or tactical at all.
I get tired of seeing people toe that line without actually having any real world political or activist experience. You can see the proof by numerous exposals of bothsiders who more often than not downplay the white wing extremism that was emboldened by Trump. Bothsides was supposed to be about holding bothsides accountable. It has turned into “trump/white wing extremism isn’t that bad… the solution is to hold politicians accountable by not being active in politics”….
In real life the only way to hold politicians accountable is to be CONSISTENTLY active in politics.
