RIP, feels like she got b*stardized and forced out of Hollywood after The Shining.

I think she actually had some mental illness going on, I had read up on her

RIP. Contributed one of the most legendary acting performances in cinema history. Not many can say that.

Kubrick was tougher on her than anyone else on the film but Kubrick was tough as hell on all of his actors, he was an absolute insane perfectionist that led him to some abusive behavior.

To be a bit fair, Shelly Duvall has always debunked the idea that Kubrick ruined her life and caused mental issues. She had issues before and after the Shining, and no worse due to Kubrick. He was tough on her....like he was on all his crew, she always maintained that she didn't feel singled out.

Her most successful and fruitful years were  after the Shining.

Seems like she started abusing hardcore drugs after working with Robin Williams, ofc he also tried to influence 19 year old Eddie Murphy too into partaking of that lifestyle and he wasn't having it
