i noticed hollywood seems to treat pretty darker skinned women as forgettable.
That actress from the first Blade movie was beautiful, and starred and a popular movie, and yet nobody was rushing to offer her parts after that.

She definitely should have been in the sequel, she had nearly as much screen time as blade . But if she continued to be the love interest the movie would be too "black"
