The vast majority of African Americans do resemble west Africans. Why you think all those British actors are getting roles in America? They are mostly African.

Biggest reason for the division is that miscegenation was far more common in Brazil than America and they built a proper caste system around it. Whole USA has house negros they were still essentially negroes with no more rights than field negroes. In Brazil being lighter was a genuine boost in social status. If 50% of the black population was people that were mixed race - people would call it out more.

Yara looks like she has a non black parent or grandparent considering she’s of west African heritage. She could pass for East African.

Your eyes are just trained differently because of where you grew up. She doesn't look like she has a nonwhite parent, she literally looks like half the black people in America who have two black parents. Her skin tone is within probably 2-3 hues (in both directions) of most Black Americans...

Those photos you posted weren't great examples, many of those brothers and sisters favor Yara in complexion, texture, and features...

Oh I know what I’m talking about. You’re right Michael Jackson wasn’t masculine but his family was pretty much black royalty at the time, And everyone already love him. He was also super talented.
