I'm talking about as a whole. Of course they would drop the price if the game doesn't sell. I was referring to the initial cost of the game. That "engineer" that spoke to defend MS's policies stated that games would eventually get cheaper for consumers as a result of everything going digital and doing away with middlemen like Gamestop. My thoughts were that they would have no reason to drop the prices of the games on release date. Yeah Halo 5 may drop to 30 bucks after people are done buying it, but it won't release at 30 bucks.Nah, this isn't true at all. Let's say a AAA exclusive is released and nobody else is buying it at the full $60...they can't just sit there with their arms crossed like...NOPE, THE PRICE IS $60!
Do I think prices will drop as fast as steam? Nah, but they will drop steadily over time. They actually would drop faster if it was all digital IMO. Simple economics
