Yall are not understanding.

Youtube is trying to force you into premium now.

I've been using an adblock for over ten years (Adblock Plus then uBlock Origin).

They want to begin blocking you from being able to even watch YouTube if you are running an ablocker or a browser that blocks ads.

I hear you, but as soon as I seen the option for no ads I took it . Plus you get YouTube music for free when you have Premium.

The bigger problem is what YouTube is doing is happening with other streaming platforms at the same time or the others will follow suit. It’s because the business models don’t work. Everyone thinks they can avoid what happened with the previous mediums (radio and tv) learned a long time ago because they ignore history which is you can’t just ignore advertisers. The advertising is what pays the bills not the consumers. Businesses spend tons of money to have their products or ads to get consumers to buy. You can’t just turn off ads for consumer convenience because then the businesses are going to stop paying.

So until anyone we find a solid solution to generate money without advertising dollars. I think the way ads are done has to change. I got an idea but it requires companies to be smart enough to implement it so it’s less intrusive for the user while incentivizing them to look at the product or service at a later time.
