I deal with the mobile ads since Vanced failed but couldn't do it on my Desktop. Thats where I'm watching 90% of the time, so far, still working fine. I'm not trying to pay Amazon Prime numbers for Premium so will hold off as long as I can.

Youtube is trying to force you into premium now.

I've been using an adblock for over ten years (Adblock Plus then uBlock Origin).

They want to begin blocking you from being able to even watch YouTube if you are running an ablocker or a browser that blocks ads.
