Adam Sandler is teaming up with Chris Rock once again for his next Netflix comedy feature film, The Week Of.

Deadline reports the movie, which will premiere on the streaming service in 2018, follows Sandler's character's daughter marrying Rock’s character’s son. The story will take place the week before the wedding. Production is set to begin this summer in Long Island.

“Similar in the romantic comedy tone of Sandler’s most recent film Sandy Wexler, this film will be the perfect vehicle for Sandler and Rock and their millions of fans around the world," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

Robert Smigel, who has written and exec produced some of Sandler's movies like Hotel Transylvania, Grown Ups, and Jack and Jill, will direct The Week Of from a script he co-wrote with Sandler. Allen Covert and Sandler are producing. The Week Of will be the fourth film in Sandler's Netflix deal, which was recently renewed for an additional four movies.

It was recently reported that Netflix users have spent "half a billion hours" watching Adam Sandler movies on the streaming service. Sandler's first two Netflix projects, The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over, have become the most successful movie releases ever for the company. With this and the two Grown Ups movies, why is Chris content with being Sandler's black foil in these shytty movies?

He needs to start movin' like the legend he is and pick better projects. His "Actor" IMDB credits are not befitting of a Mt. Rushmore comedian.

Maybe he's not interested in cultivating his own movie and TV projects and is just happy to cash-in when Sandler needs him :yeshrug:

He gets paid to basically go on vacation with one of his best friends. Sandler is basically out here scamming these studios with shytty movies, he brings his friends along and they all get paid to hang out and crack shytty jokes on set.

With that said it is a bit disappointing that Chris Rock isn't doing something similar to Top Five which was his best film BY FAR.

Richard Pryor played a fukking toy. It's what you do on the stage that matters.

I really hope he decides to do another film instead of another special for Netflix
