The full article makes it seem like it'll be less dramatic than the headlines are saying

This what Silver said from the ESPN article:

"He seems to be a fine young man, in terms of my dealings with him," Silver said. "He's clearly made some mistakes. But he's young and I'm hoping now, once we conclude at the end of our process, what the appropriate discipline is, that it's not just about the discipline. It's about now what we, the players' association, his team, he and the people around him around him are going to do to create better circumstances going forward. That's ultimately what's most important."
All those compliments mean they are going to bring the hammer down

At this point, he can't afford to give him any soft suspensions with conditions. It will affect his power as the Commish. Whatever the punishment is, it has to be a hard line suspension with no light conditions.
Suspending him for 25-30 games isn’t a soft or lenient suspension, especially if it comes with mandatory counseling and therapy.

And nothing that I suggested is soft either. Ja needs rehabilitation and help, not to be in lock up As it seems many of you want.

They gave him 8 games the first time.. what should be next 20? Thats not severe enough.. and again. This ain't about legal and illegal..
Wait I guess I forgot. Didn’t remember he got suspended for the Indy thing. Thought suspension was for having guns? Which is why I said the NBAPA need to raise hell.

When you start allowing your players multiple suspensions for shyt that isn’t illegal or against the CBA you going down a slippery slope regardless of how dumb Ja moving.

I think people are reading too much into this. He’s not postponing it because the news is big, he’s postponing it because he doesnt want league news distracting the Finals period. Doesn’t mean he’s coming through with something hard. Everybody learned from The Decision a decade ago.

People gonna be disappointed when it’s some therapy or something

Why would he get a full season? He needs to be at work being productive. Half season at most with counseling that is NBA approved and monitored even post suspension.

Unless Ja is really doing dirt he shouldn't sit down a year to get his self together.

People reaching with the predictions in here
Union not going let him get roofed for an incident that didn’t harm anyone. If the league/team want him seated for any substantial length of time it’s going be a Kyrie vaccine/Simmons situation where it’s mutually agreed and he still get his checks
