Suspending Ja for 50+ games or the whole season sets a bad precedent. Their are guys who did far worse & was suspended for lesser games.
no it doesnt, the nba is very afraid of ja becoming the next crittenton, the difference is crittenton wasnt a star so it was easy ignore. all of his behavior over the past year indicates hes going down a path of self destruction, the situation with the teenager and allegedly flashing his gun etc

this suspension is a pre-emptive strike on ja, he either shapes up or shoots somebody or gets shot himself

Lol, fam u serious. Crittenton was a isolated incident. Plus he had a loaded gun on NBA premises. A path of self destruction? This cat has not been arrested or charged with nothing.

I would imagine that they'll use the reasoning of "conduct detrimental to the league" when suspending him as anything more specific potentially gets law enforcement involved depending on what the "additional information". Not to mention it potentially makes them look bad themselves considering that they were supposed to do proper investigating the first go around.

I wonder have Silver and the NBAPA both agreed on the suspension???

I'm pretty sure when the suspension comes out from Silver that the NBAPA already knows about it???

The NBPA has been quiet about the situation, so I'd imagine that they'd be on board with the suspension as well. I'd honestly sit this one out if I were them as they run the risk of bad optics in defending Ja depending on what comes to light.

Didn't sliver say he worked with the NBPA about the suspension?
