UEFA includes soccer clubs from different leagues, so it wouldnt be like that at all, unless you're bringing over Euroleague, and ACB teams. That would be lame

What about a single elimination tourney between all the non playoff teams for draft order? Ie winner gets #1 runner up gets #2 etc. You could have a week between the end of the season and the offs (and make the first round 5 games again to not make the season superlong)

I would be alright with something like this. That would immediately put an end to tanking.

I would love some type of relegation like @mastermind suggested. Would be beautiful.

Relegation is pointless. There are 82 games to fill, and 16 playoff spots. The bad teams are weeded out already.

It's a cool idea, but it sort of devalues the second half of the season. What if the team that wins the midseason tournament doesn't even make the playoffs for the second half of the season?

Relegation would force bad teams to play hard all season or suffer a massive drop in revenue.

I'm not opposed, I love the NBA but after the newness of the season, seeing rookies and players on new teams for about two weeks.... I tend to not be real interested until football season is over so I could see this getting my interest. The format of it is the key.

I like the idea of bottom teams playing for draft picks, helps avoid tanking in the second half of the season....

It would be dope to see a team win and get the top pick and possibly use that momentum to make a run at a playoff spot
