Dont blame GSW, blame the Mavs for trading for Bogut clearing up the cash for them to sign KD.

Not only that, don't change shyt up when GSW built their team through the draft and scouting and timely signings. A team will always emerge as a title contender every few years via building through the draft ie Philly and Minny

TYRONE GA!
1. They could modify the Bird rights to make a big contract to count less against the cap if its your own player
2. There will still be players who would just take the money and be the king of their own situation like Melo and Derozan

#1 still won't stop players from taking less to team up and dominate.

Yup. Minny gonna be a serious problem esp if they can get some shooters.

sidenote: Wonder what the T-Wolves players think about the shooting..... :patrice:
Would the officers walk out on them..... :mjpls:

OKC shouldn't have had to choose between Perkins and harden. The problem is that the cba changed right after we signed Perkins and then the league retroactively rose ruled Kevin durant. Which cost us 3mm per year out of the blue. Before the lockout we could have signed all of them without caring about a repeater tax. The point was to help small market teams when in fact it helped destroyed one. The next lockout will be worse for the players. Tags potentially and percentage of the cap rules .blame durant for this .
Your owner cheap. If Gilbert can pay over 50 million in luxury tax then your owner could've done the same instead of giving Harden and Reggie Jackson away for trash.

Gilbert paid it because he had the weight of Cleveland on his back once LeBron returned. Cleveland was a unique circumstance.

The Thunder could have maxed both of them out (which would have been stupid) and it wouldn't have mattered. The roles of those players would have been compromised. They outgrew their roles. Roster construction is key. The Warriors would have been in that same boat had Lee not fallen off. Lee made it real easy to promote Green. The key to these title teams wasn't how much they spent. It was roster construction

You are not going to completely stop it but there will be players who will take the $50 mil like Conley or Derozan. They both could have gone to a super team but they decided to be kings in their current cities

*edit* I forgot about Harden. He didn't have to resign with the Rockets for 4 more years but he did because he's fine being in Houston running his own team...

Hmm, if KD was in his 2nd or 3rd year I would see the concern.

I do think that what KD did was weak as fukk, but at the end of the day it was HIS decision. WTF are you going to do with a 10 year veteran? Limit his options? WTF is that?

If Harden was willing to re-up knowing what his role was then why break it up?

I bet OKC'S owner will be one of the owners wanting a lockout because they want to restrict player movement.

I'm not a warriors fan.
I'm a fan of players and its fukking sad to see folks on this board who claim they support players, claim they are fans of the game, and want these players to stand up for _______, will side with owners who want to cap player pay so they can have higher profits, and lock players in to these owners and teams like they are indentured servants.

I hope the NBA players come out and call Silver on this bullshyt along with the NBAPA president.

Because he didn't know what his role was. Presumably he figured "a max salary = a boost in my role" because who pays max money for a 6th man? Brooks was never gonna switch his role til Harden figured it out on D (he never has)

The lockout won't be about restricting player movement. If that were the case we'd still be seeing 6 and 7 year deals
