In the history of the NBA the league has always been healthy with money and ratings flowing in when there was no parity.

shyt the ratings sucked in the mid 2000s with parity and the NBA ratings were so bad it had tap delays for the finals in the 70s when there was parity.

Some fans scream that parity shyt when they teams aint in the finals. But let the got damn hawks play the trailblazers in the finals and watch the ratings be a damn 2 with 3 million viewers.

On a certain level the NBA (and any league) wants some degree of parity.

But at the same time, rivalries tend to drive up ratings.
It probably isn't helpful that a Warriors/Cavaliers Finals seemed inevitable from the start, because it did take some of the wind out of the regular season. But I suspect the Finals ratings will be great. Especially as they build up the narrative of Kevin Durant...the Warriors "Super Team" and the rubber match against the Cavaliers.

I mean depending on your own ratings, we're gonna see 4 or 5 of the top 20-25 players in the NBA on the same court at the same time.

Silver may care about the NBA as a product overall, but so long as the ratings drive the revenues, he'll live with the limited parity

that is all that all the leagues care about....parity is a myth/pipe dream leagues sell fans just to get their money....the closest thing to parity we have in any sport is college bball cause of the 1 and done setup....

lol this aint true cause it's never been like that.....it's always been only a handful of teams with a legit shot at the title...the 'competitive' series are usually between 2 teams with legit shots and/or 2 teams without legit shots....same as this year...the cavs/warriors series vs teams have been boring, but those other series with teams not named cavs/warriors have been 'competitive' and exciting....
