What on earth..lol
No. If nikkas in 90's/mid 2000's can play 40 min 82 games there are no excuse for this more advanced era. If anything, the games need to be longer. Get rid of quarters.
Two 30 minute halfs (clocks runs on deadball)
each team only get 2 timeouts a half
No substitutions allowed After the 3:00 min mark of the half
After the the 7th made 3 in a half, 3's only count for 2
Watch the game prosper
This would be a good idea.
The future generations attention spans will only get worse. 2 and half hours for a game is a lot when each team has 82 games
Today's soccer is considered boring by some of the fans, claiming old games used to be more fun to watch, but you don't see big leagues cutting 90 minutes of game time to 80 just so the fans could go home early.
Your star players getting injured? Be better at team construction and player development so you have a backup plan and don't wear your star players out.
If NBA wants 40 minutes format, this eliminates current gen players from achieving some of NBA records in the future. Plus you may never know and scoring averages could drop down just like it was back in old days from high scoring 80s to low scoring 90s. And then what? Back to 48 min again? This is a gimmicky solution. Reduce ticket prices then. I bet none of them will do that.
Yo some I'm watching the interview and Silver said something interesting. He said the NBA seems take a disproportionate amount of criticism when it comes to viewership numbers compared to other sports, that its because the players have been outspoken and have a history of activism.
