Wasn't the bulls roster, it was the bulls coaching, they fired thibs and brought in Fred hoiberg who plummeted the defense and instituted a offense the players quickly went away from. Then they tried to reinstate some of thibs schemes but there was no thibs there.
Far as the cap space, the bulls could have offered more, but they wouldn't unload taj Gibson and wanted to make promises to Melo to take 17 mill or some shyt and they hit him later or some shyt so they could keep taj in the mix. If they would have traded taj they could have given him the 22 mill he was looking for. He didn't trust the bulls front office, can't blame him there.
